An exhibition dedicated to Fortunato Depero, creator of Futurist aesthetics together with Giacomo Balla, opens today in Mantua, in conjunction with Festivaletteratura. The exhibition is conceived by Electa in collaboration with the Mart, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto, and the Casa d’Arte Futurista Depero.

About 80 works dating from the period 1917-1938 will be on display at the Palazzo della Ragione, on view until Feb. 26, 2023. “Depero automatico acrobatico” takes visitors on a discovery of an intelligent and eclectic artist: in fact, throughout his career he built a total art form, ranging from painting to theater, from set design to applied arts, from publishing to advertising.

Starting from Capri, passing through Rovereto, and ending up in New York, Depero exhibited his work in major national and international exhibitions, founded a specialized Art House, and launched prestigious collaborations with leading brands such as Campari, Vogue, and Vanity Fair.
